Talk Boost is a targeted and evidence based intervention that supports language delayed children to make significant progress with their language and communication skills.
The programme is delivered by classroom teachers and assistants, hence the training takes place in pairs (1 teacher and 1 support assistant), and we offer Talk Boost at both KS1 and KS2 level.
TALK BOOST KS1
Aimed at 4-7 year olds with delayed speech, language and communication, it is proven to narrow the gap between them and their peers. Participants will be trained to deliver a 10 week language intervention programme – which should result in children making an average of 18 months progress. Each training pair will receive an intervention manual, resource manual, organiser box complete with full set of flashcards, communication cookbook, resource kitbag and progression tools.
TALK BOOST KS2
Designed for children between the ages of 7 & 10 whose language and communication skills are developing typically but are below what is expected for their age. It provides language-rich activities to support language development, with 67% of children catching up with their peers after an 8 week intervention. Each training pair will receive an intervention manual, organiser box, teacher manual including tracker, 12 x communication detective notebooks and 2 x participant books.
